"Is that a storm in your teacup, or are those just clouds in your coffee?"
- Unknown

Homer Laughlin produced a genuine classic with its original cup and saucer for the Fiesta line. It has a flat inside bottom and a hand-turned foot. Until the 1960s, the cup featured concentric rings not only on the outside, but also on the inside. (See photo)

In the 1960s, HLC began streamlining many of the shapes, along with adding new colors. The hand-turned foot was eliminated. The rings inside the cup were also removed, which allowed it to hold more liquid. It was also during this time that the "C-handle" ring was designed. Some C-handle teacups were produced in medium green, turquoise and yellow. But this is the shape that ultimately ended up with the Amberstone, Casualstone and Fiesta Ironstone lines in the late 1960s.

The C-handle continues on as the shape for the Post86 Fiesta Cup and Saucer.

The vintage teacup and saucer has been made in all the colors, so happy collecting!
