Cream Cheese Frosting

  • 3/4 cup butter, softened
  • 8 ounces cream cheese, softened
  • 1-pound box (3-3/4 cups) confectioners' sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 3/4 cup finely chopped pecans (optional)
Blend the softened cream cheese and butter with an electric mixer. Beat in the sugar, a little at a time. Add the vanilla and pecans, if desired, and mix well.
Note: Use with Carrot Cake, Spice Cake and many other cake recipes. As you see in the photo, we frosted our Red Velvet Cake with this rich frosting.
