Irish Coffee Mugs

by
I can envision a small cottage somewhere, with a lot of writing paper, and a dog, and a fireplace and maybe enough money to give myself some Irish coffee now and then and entertain my two friends. -Lt. Richard Van de Geer, officially last American soldier to die in the Vietnam war (1948-1975)

Irish Coffee Mugs

If you intend to do any entertaining at home, it's worthwhile to have a variety of glassware at the ready.

It's always good to have some handled glass mugs standing by if you want to whip up a traditional Irish Coffee, or Mexican Coffee if you feel like breaking out the Kahlua.

Some people complain that drinking hot liquid from a glass mug burns the drinker's hand. I can say that, after many, many test trials, drinking from a nice set of Irish Coffee glasses is completely painless.

Styles of Irish Coffee Mugs

A quick look at this list shows that there are countless variations of Irish Coffee mugs. Some of the mugs are ceramic. Some are glass. Some do not have handles. There is actually a debate over how the correct Irish Coffee mugs should be shaped. I'll leave that debate to the experts.
