Salty Chihuahua

This is a Tex-Mex version of the Salty Dog, using tequila rather than vodka or gin.

  • 2 ounces tequila
  • 4 ounces grapefruit juice
  • 1 wedge lime
  • coarse salt
  1. Wet the rim of an old fashioned glass with lime juice, then dip in salt.
  2. Fill glass with ice.
  3. Pour in tequila and grapefruit juice.
  4. Squeeze and drop in the lime wedge.
  5. Stir.

Note: The more traditional method of preparation is to substitute 1/4 teaspoon salt in the drink for the coarse salt on the rim of the glass. You decide which method you prefer.
