Coconut Macaroons (Kokosnuss Makronen)

  • 5 egg whites
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 teaspoon almond extract
  • 1-1/2 cups shredded coconut
  1. Preheat oven to 400°F.
  2. Beat the egg whites until stiff peaks form. Fold the sugar, almond extract and coconut into the egg whites. Drop by rounded teaspoonfuls onto a greased cookie sheet.
  3. Bake at 400°F for 25 to 30 minutes until golden brown.
