Champagne Punch

Sometimes the occasion is so special that only drinking champagne will do.
  • 4 cups boiling water
  • 5 single-serving tea bags
  • 2 cups sugar
  • 2 cups fresh lemon juice
  • 2 cups fresh lime juice
  • 1 quart club soda, chilled
  • 3 25.4-ounce (750 ml) bottles champagne, chilled
  1. Pour the boiling water onto the tea bags in a large heatproof container. Cover and let stand 5 minutes. Remove tea bags. Add the sugar, lemon and lime juice, stirring until the sugar dissolves. Chill.
  2. Just before serving, stir in the club soda and champagne.
  3. Makes about 5-1/2 quarts.
