Coffee-Chocolate Frosting

  • 6 tablespoons butter
  • 1 pound plus 1/4 cup confectioners' sugar (3-3/4 cups)
  • 3 tablespoons strong, hot coffee
  • 3 tablespoons cocoa
  • 3 tablespoons Kahlúa or other coffee liqueur
  1. At medium speed of an electric mixer, cream together the butter and sugar with 2 tablespoons of the coffee.
  2. With the mixer running, gradually add the cocoa, remaining coffee and all the liqueur.
  3. Beat until smooth.
  4. Fill and frost cake immediately.

Note: This frosting is a natural for Coffee Devil's Food Cake.
