Purple Jesus

Here is a cocktail that ticks so many boxes! It's purple. It has ginger ale. It has "Jesus" in its name. It would be a sin if I didn't confess also that I did not invent this cocktail. It is a creation of Grady Spears, which I found in his marvelous book Cowboy Cocktails.

  • 1 ½ ounces vodka (I prefer Texas' Tito's or Deep Eddy.)
  • 3 ounces grape juice
  • 2 ounces ginger ale, or to taste
  • Garnish with red grapes
  1. Fill a highball glass half-full with ice. Combine the vodka, grape juice and ginger ale. Stir to mix and garnish with red grapes.
  2. Serve for a religious experience.

Note: What would be a good appetizer to serve with a Purple Jesus? Quesadilas?
