Quick Barbecue Sauce
- 1/4 cup finely chopped onion
- 1 clove garlic, minced or pressed
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 1 cup catsup
- 1/4 cup brown sugar, firmly packed
- 1/4 cup fresh lemon juice
- 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
- 1 teaspoon prepared mustard (your choice: Dijon, German, yellow)
- 1/8 teaspoon Tabasco sauce
In a small saucepan, sauté onion and garlic in the butter until
tender. Add the remaining ingredients and bring to a boil. Reduce heat
and simmer uncovered for 15 to 20 minutes.
Note: Use as a basting sauce for pork, chicken or beef. Refrigerate leftovers.
