Crunchy Popcorn Bark

A delicious, addictive treat.
  • 2 quarts popped corn
  • 1-1/2 cups pecan halves
  • 2/3 cup whole almonds
  • 1-1/3 cups sugar
  • 1/2 cup light corn syrup (Karo)
  • 1 cup butter
  • 1 6-ounce package chocolate chips (optional)
Mix together the popped corn and nuts, In a saucepan, combine the sugar, corn syrup and butter. Bring to a boil and boil 12 to 15 minutes, stirring constantly. When the mixture turns light caramel in color, remove from heat, and stir in popcorn and nuts.

Spread out on a lightly buttered cookie sheet. Can be spread with melted chocolate pieces, if desired. Break apart when cool.


Makes 40 or so pieces.

Note: If this doesn't all get eaten at once, store it in a tightly-covered container.
