Chocolate Dream Pie

This pie is a cool and delicious chocolate experience.
  • 2 3-ounce packages cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup confectioner's sugar
  • 1-1/2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup plus 1 tablespoon cocoa
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • 1-1/2 cups whipping cream (see Note for alternative)
  • 1 prepared 9-inch pastry shell
Cream together the softened cream cheese, sugar and vanilla with an electric mixer, letting the mixer run for 3 or 4 minutes on high speed.

Gradually add the cocoa alternately with the milk, and beat until smooth.

With the mixer running, gradually add the whipping cream, and beat until mixture is stiff.

Pile filling into a prepared pie shell, and chill for several hours or overnight.

Chocolate Dream Pie Notes

An 8-ounce container of thawed whipped topping may be substituted for the whipping cream. However, it must be gently folded into, rather than beaten into, the cream cheese/cocoa mixture.
