Cheesecake BarsThese are every bit as good as they sound.
Cream the butter and brown sugar, beating well at medium speed of an electric mixer. Stir in the flour and pecans. Set aside 1 cup of the mixture, and press remainder in the bottom of an 8-inch baking dish. Bake at 350°F for 12 to 15 minutes. Remove from oven and set aside. Beat the cream cheese at high speed until smooth. Gradually add the 1/2 cup sugar, beating until mixture is light and fluffy. Add the egg and remaining ingredients, mixing well. Spread cream cheese mixture evenly over baked crust. Sprinkle the reserved flour mixture evenly over the batter. Bake for 25 minutes. Cool to room temperature, then chill thoroughly. Cut into bars or squares. Makes about 1-1/2 dozen bars.
