Oven-Barbecued Pork Ribs

  • 4 pounds pork ribs, cut in several pieces
  • 1 lemon, thinly sliced
  • 1 large onion, thinly sliced
  • 1 cup ketchup
  • 1/3 cup Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 teaspoon chili powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 2 dashes of Tabasco sauce
  • 2 cups water
Preheat oven to 450°F.

Combine ketchup, worcestershire sauce, chili powder, salt, tabasco sauce and water in a saucepan. Bring sauce to a boil, then remove from heat.

Place ribs in a shallow roasting pan, meaty side up. Cover with slices of onion and lemon. Roast in hot oven for 30 minutes.

Lower oven temperature to 350°F. Pour sauce over ribs, and continue baking, basting frequently with pan juices, 20 to 30 minutes.
Makes about 4 servings.

Prep time: 10 minutes; Cooking time: 50-60 minutes; Total time: 60-70 minutes
